Take the City of New Orleans passenger rail liner from Union Station in downtown Jackson, which serves a route from Chicago, IL to New Orleans, LA, with stops along the way in Memphis and more. Daily southbound departures are around 11:30 am with northbound service departing around 5:30 pm.

JATRAN

The City of Jackson, Department of Planning and Development, Office of City Planning, Transit Services Division is proud to provide JATRAN fixed route and JATRAN HandiLift ADA paratransit bus service throughout the City of Jackson.

JATRAN provides fixed route and demand-responsive bus service throughout the City of Jackson. You can count on JATRAN to provide transit services - Monday through Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. JATRAN fixed routes generally operate Monday through Saturday. No JATRAN service is provided on Sunday and the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Bus stops are located at approximately one-quarter mile intervals along each route and are identified by a JATRAN sign.
